At birthday parties, while the magic is aimed at the kids, there’s plenty of comedy that goes over the children’s heads — parents often find it side-splittingly funny, as you’ll see in the reviews.

How much space do you need for the Birthday Magic Show?

Have the kids sit together on the ground as a group, with the birthday child in the front row if they are comfortable. The magician performs in front of the group. If on grass, you may wish to put a mat down for comfort.

Do you need us to provide anything?

No Aardy brings everything he needs.

How many kids can you do the Birthday party for?

Up to 30 kids is reasonable. For more than 30, there is a price increase to cover additional setup, such as speaker systems, and a larger show. You can combine parties for cost savings with many kids, but the balloon animals may need to be simplified or made quickly by Aardy instead of the longer, detailed ones

Can I photo and video?

Yes, I'll even warn you when something is coming up that you'll want to film and if you are in a bad position to take the photo I'll even tell you where the best spot is

Frequently Asked Questions

Suitable for ages 3 and up. Each show is tailored to the children attending, so a 6-year-old party will be different from an 11-year-old party, while a 5-year-old party is similar to a 6-year-old show. We recommend 3 as the minimum age, though younger siblings can still attend. Many parties include a mix of ages, and after 26 years, we’ve performed for every age group, so there’s no need to worry.

On weekends, Aardy performs all over Sydney - from Berowra to Penrith, Windsor, Liverpool, Sutherland, and everywhere in between. Most of his work is around the North Shore, where he lives. He sometimes travels further, but longer distances can be challenging, so if in doubt, just ask. During weekdays, Aardy can perform on the Central Coast, but weekends are difficult due to frequent traffic issues on the F3 motorway, which make returning to Sydney for other shows unreliable.

Parties usually last about 2 hours, for example from 10 AM to 12 noon or 2 PM to 4 PM. Aardy should start about 30 minutes into the event to allow guests to arrive. He arrives a few minutes early and sets up quickly in about 1 minute, so the show starts right on time.

This setup allows the party space to be used freely beforehand, keeps the magician a surprise, and avoids long waits or downtime. The child-appearance illusion takes slightly longer and must be set up where kids cannot see.

Aardy can perform indoors or outdoors, making the most of good weather. The magic show lasts around 45 minutes. After the show, parties often continue with balloon twisting or cake-cutting and singing happy birthday.

Packing up is quick, about 1 minute, so everyone can enjoy the rest of the day. Timings are flexible, and Aardy can adjust to make the party perfect.

Aardy’s 2-hour parties are designed for 2½ to 3 hours or longer, for example from 10 AM to 1 PM or 2 PM to 4:30 PM. This program includes everything in the 1-hour package plus magic lessons. Aardy arrives a few minutes early and sets up in about 1 minute. He starts with a warm-up and mini magic show to demonstrate the tricks, then teaches the kids how to perform them. Teaching 30 kids is easy, as he regularly teaches 100 at vacation cares. Around the halfway point, you may want to schedule a 15-minute food break. After that, the show continues with the 1-hour magic package. Each child receives tricks one at a time and fills their own magic bag, often waving the wands during the show.

This trick works best for children aged 7 and under, sometimes 8. It must be performed indoors, usually at your home, so the birthday child can get into the box without the other kids seeing. Large rented halls are possible but require temporarily taking the kids outside. If the child is shy, someone else or a friend can go in the box instead. The rest of the show can be performed anywhere, and setup takes under a minute if done in the backyard.

How does a party work?

Most Kids Birthday Parties are 2 hours, 2.5 hours or 3 hours long.
At your home, in a park, rented hall or restaurant

You book Aardy to Start his show 30 minutes after the party starts. which gives the kids enough time to turn up (as many are not on time).

Aardy's set up is 1 minute (he does the bulk of his set up where he parks) so when he walks in he is 99.99% ready to perform- this allows him to do the show ANYWHERE so you can if you wish decide on the day where the show will be. (indoors or out doors makes no matter to Aardy) He also doesn't tie up the performance space so you can use it for other activities (Many magicians do their set up in your home which means you can't have the kids around that area before and after the show they have not thought about how a party at a home works)

Aardy performed for 1 or 2 hours leaving enough time at the end for singing happy birthday and cake.
(the 2 hour program can have a lunch/food break in the middle if you wish)
